It comes with a higher ride-height and VarioFlex seating that can be folded, removed or moved to increase the amount of boot space.

Transponder Keys

Contrary to the flat metal keys which operate mechanically by cutting the top and bottom transponder (a portmanteau of transmitter and responder) keys are equipped with an electronic microchip in their key heads. When the key is inserted into an automobile equipped with transponder technology it sends an informational low-level message to the receiver located near the ignition switch. If the chip is programmed to do so it will cause the engine to start. Transponder chips are made to stop theft of cars, which is why most modern cars have them.

During World War II, coded messages were sent over radio frequencies to determine whether an aircraft was hostile or friendly. General Motors created the first transponder key in 1985, for its Corvette. Since then, all new vehicles come equipped with keys that have transponder chips, and they are also popular for older models that are retrofitted to include them.

If you own a car equipped with this type of security system, it is recommended to always have an extra transponder keys in your car, as it only works only if the chip has been scanned properly. This is not foolproof. Some people have found ways to trick this system. They include kits and tutorials that explain how to disable the transponder with wires and electrical relays.

Proximity keys

Proximity keys are the latest keyless entry technology, and are becoming popular in a variety of vehicles. The key fob can be stored in a pocket or bag and used to unlock the car. The key fob then connects to the car, removing the immobiliser and allowing the engine to start.

However proximity key systems have some disadvantages. If the key fob is lost or damaged the fob isn't usable to start the car. It could be expensive to hire a locksmith or dealer to replace it. The fobs are also powered by batteries, meaning they'll have to be replaced regularly.

Another drawback to proximity key technology is that it disrupts the cause-and-effect cycle that we're used to with physical keys. In the case of a traditional lock, it's when you press the lock and it opens, you'll know that you have the key. With proximity-sensing keys, you'll need to be within a certain distance of the car to activate it.

Despite these disadvantages they are a great option for drivers who want keep themselves from locking out of their cars. If you have a proximity key, make sure you always keep a backup on hand in case of an emergency. Contact your local Pop-A-Lock for a quote on the services and prices.

Keyless Entry Systems

These systems are synchronized to back-end software, which allows landlords to monitor the entry and exit. These systems are synced to a back-end program and permit the landlord to monitor entry and exit. In addition, these systems make it simpler for tenants to enter the property in case in the event of a crisis.

A keyless entry system sends encrypted signals to an inside receiver. The receiver then interprets the signal and opens or starts the engine. It can also recognize the presence of a driver and adjust the settings of the vehicle in accordance with their preferences. It will shut the door if, for example the driver is carrying an item in his hand.

Although most keyless entry systems are secure, some are susceptible to attacks. For example, a replay attack is when the initial remote control signal is recorded and then transmitted to the device at a later time. However, this could be prevented by incorporating into the keyless entry system an algorithm which ensures that each transmission is different from the previous ones.

Keyless entry also has the advantage that it does not require you to replace locks every time a tenant is moved out. This is a costly part of the process of transferring units and it is logical for landlords to reduce this expense as often as it is possible. With a keyless system all you have to do is reset the code. This is a lot faster and simpler than changing the lock.
